Success

As per a message on the machine, the one interview that I did last week that was the third interview with this employer was a success. I am just trying to hook up with the HR person to get the details, but I have to say that right now, I feel pretty damn good.

Update

The six interviews in three days went well. I feel pretty good about all of them. I will hopefully find out over the next few days how I fared. I have another interview scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 2.

After the last interview, which was in Cambridge, I had lunch with my sister-in-law. Nice Portuguese restaurant. Not as loud or inexpensive as my local one, but the roast potatoes were unbelievable. I told my wife I made her sister moan with pleasure, it was after the fact that I told here it was by giving her one of the roast potatoes.

Lovely Saturday weather wise. I took advantage and wash and waxed the car, gave the inside a good cleaning. The evening had us going out to dinner to celebrate the oldest son getting his mechanics license.

Like a full time job

Quite busy on the interview front starting tomorrow. I have two on Wednesday, two on Thursday and one on Friday. With these are three first interviews, one second interview and a third interview. Four are in town and one will require move back to Cambridge. The Mrs and I are excited about the prospect of moving back but are also OK with staying in town as it is easiest.

Great long weekend. Ate like a king except for Good Friday where I fasted.

Long weekend

Bring it on. I am ready for a break. Looking forward to three days of no work, some exercise and some good food. Except for tomorrow where I am going to be fasting.

Got a call for another interview. Local in London.

I have to say, my beautiful wife has been awesome. She will move back to Cambridge or stay here in London. Either way, she is OK. A job is a job and that is OK. I have to admit I feel the same way. Obviously staying in London is easier as we don't have to sell the house, buy another one and we can have the kids in the same school. Moving back to Cambridge gets us closer to family and friends that we still stay in touch with.

Misc

Interesting to see how some corporate folks are turning on each other in survival mode.

Boy, Manchester United looked outmatched yesterday. Porto played well and fully deserved the tie.

Great run this morning. I am working harder to get back into very good shape and it feels great.

Watching the first season of Smallville. I like that show but really didn't start watching it until a few years ago.

Given lemons, make lemonade

An idea came to me yesterday. I should take the knowledge that I am obtaining from the plant closure and the business shut down that I have been through the last six months and channel it into an article that could be printed in an accounting magazine. There is probably a lot of things that I have learned that can make a readable article. Should it be published I would obtain a good chuck of professional development credits and may even get a payment out of it.

I figure within a month I would have a decent article, as I have a good start on it already.

Not a bad weekend

So the Friday was an interview that went really well and one that I just don't know about. I had good feelings about the second one, but the first (which was a second with a local company) was one of those "what would you do in this situation" type of interviews, which I never feel good about. The only thing I can do is answer honestly and we will see what happens. I do have another interview scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Saturday had us entertaining friends. All in all a good day. Sunday the whole family went to see Monsters versus Aliens in 3D. Entertaining movie but I was blown away by how awesome the 3D has become.
