After a long and trying week, the weekend has been awesome. Yesterday was chill. My beautiful wife worked, so I read and watched a bit of TV.
This morning started off with a trail run of about 7 km with my dog and my beautiful wife. After a shower, a bit of breakfast and some coffee, we went to the local farmers market. The fruits and vegetables were overwhelming. The colours were incredible, the variety, all local, great. The smells of basil bunches were great.
We bought sweet corn and some baby carrots, which I will have for dinner today. For tomorrow's dinner, our 14th wedding anniversary, I have a free range chicken, some butternut squash, parsnips and more carrots. We also bought some vegetables for canning. Me, I love pickled hot peppers so I bought a batch of cayenne peppers to pickle. My beautiful wife makes some great pickled veggies, a medley of cucumbers, cauliflower, zucchini, onions, green and red peppers. We are going to go back next week and buy a bushel of roma tomatoes and some onions to make some pasta sauce.
When we got back I read a bit outside and now I blog before I have to do some computer related things.
