Great weekend. Lots of cooking and time with the family. Yesterday my sister-in-law and brother-in-law came over so I made a bbq chicken and a new roast recipe, it was from a Greek cookbook and had cinnamon, cumin and cloves, a whole bottle of red wine and the juice and zest of an orange. It was good. I made some herb roasted potatoes as well. Then we spent some time looking at potential accommodations for the trip.
A comment on zydecofish's blog last week had me thinking and researching. I commented that I listen to an MP3 player while cycling. He commented that he thought it was illegal. I checked both provincial rules and city bylaws for Toronto and London and see nothing that prohibits it. Now it may be a safety concern, but I don't listen to it too loud, I can still hear cars.
In my research I do see that I am breaking the law in not having a bell on my bike. I do have lights since I cycle in the dark in the morning, and during December in the dark on the way home as well. A bell doesn't make sense, except for alerting pedestrians, which I see very little of. A car is not going to hear a little bell.
